Attorney Biography

Laura M. Wellen, Esq.

Wellen (she/her), a native of Northeastern Ohio, has significant experience counseling clients through a variety of Family Law matters.

She assists clients in navigating the issues that arise in divorce, dissolution, and custody disputes, in both the Domestic Relations and Juvenile Courts.

Her specialized training in the collaborative divorce method enables her to actively listen to her clients concerns and negotiate a resolution of her clients affairs. As a litigator, she understands that the divorce process can have profound effects on the structure of a family well after the divorce is finalized.

Ms. Wellen brings the wisdom and patience of twelve years as a divorce lawyer, electing more recently to focus her practice on helping families in ways other than litigation. She has found Parenting Coordination, Mediation and Collaborative Divorces to better meet the needs of modern families.

In addition to her professional activities and affiliations, she volunteers with the Northern Ohio Hemophilia Foundation and serves as a foster for the Cleveland Animal Protective League, practices Yoga and routinely carries the ten essentials. She also was a Patients-to- Advocates 2016 Fellow.
